Lake City Weekend

Just more photos from Andy's graduation weekend!

Class of 2007

My brother, Andrew Meredith, graduated from high school this past Saturday. I felt a little old! I was teary through the whole ceremony, partly because my little brother was the one up there graduating, partly becuase I love my hometown. Andy was the sole graduate this year in Lake City (as valedictorian, he gave the commencement address - very well done!), but that definitely didn't make the celebration any smaller or less significant. The town turned out! The Lake City band played! and played! He was the highlight of the town's weekly news- paper! It was really, really special. Todd and I agreed it was our most favorite graduation yet. We had a great party on my parents' beautiful patio afterwards. Yea, Andy! Yea, Lake City!

The Zoo

Mother's Day weekend we headed to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, right here in the Springs, with Grandpa and Grandma Meredith and Uncle Andy. It was Eleanor's first trip and we knew it would be a hit with her love of animals and the sounds they make. The only disappointment was that once we were there I realized that animals in the zoo rarely make any sounds. They are surprisingly quiet! We had a fantastic time, quiet animals and all.

Waffle House

A year ago on my Dad's birthday we wanted to take him out to breakfast ...and so we stumbled upon the Waffle House. High class establish- ment. Well, all I can say is, we've been back several times to enjoy not only yummy waffles and hash browns, but a few good laughs as well. You have to experience this place to know what I'm talking about - but I would highly recommend it! Here is Eleanor with Grandpa Steve and Grandma Gayle.

Picking Flowers

Todd has been working hard on our lawn this year, and lately has been on a dandelion exterminating craze! Eleanor enjoys flowers (we have not distinguished between flowers and blossoming weeds yet), and so she enjoys helping Daddy rid the yard of these yellow monsters! She is also very into rocks right now. To Todd's credit, I have to say these pictures were taken a month or so ago, and the grass is much greener and healthier now after all his care!
